Ultimate Wedding Week

So, unbeknownst to me, apparently this is ultimate wedding week, at least in the blogging world. :)
Regardless, I saw this on Jillian's blog (once again, using her ideas!) and decided I would like to do this on mine as well.  You all know I take every chance I get to show off my husband. ;)  We had our engagement pictures taken by my FSIL, Meagan Kelly.  She did a lovely job and was very affordable. :)  They were done out near his parents' house on a neighbor's property.  I love them.

This was not part of our "official" engagement photos, but a self portrait shortly after the big question. :)

Hope you enjoyed these.

Summer/Ireland!

So, although it's currently windy and cold outside, I'm super excited for summer!  The weather has warmed up enough in the last week to start teasing me and I can't wait to get out and enjoy!  We were able to go hiking this past weekend and had a wonderful time.  We went to Hidden Mesa Open Space in Franktown and it wasn't bad.  Not a very intense hike at all, but enjoyable and would be very pretty once things start growing.  It was nice to be able to get outside and enjoy each other's company.  Hopefully we will be able to get a lot of hiking in this summer, in lots of different places.  We're very excited to be able to hike in Ireland!  I can't believe it's so close!  It'll be such a great experience and an enjoyable time with each other and our good friends.  It amazes me how fast the time has gone by since we decided to go.  We still have several things to get done before we leave, but it's coming along nicely and I think we'll make it.  Here are a few pictures of our recent hike. I'm sure I will have thousands of pictures to share after Ireland. :)

Yeah, I like him. :)

New Camera

So, we recently upgraded to a Nikon J1.  Our old Canon officially bit the dust (yay!), and we decided to "trade" and get a nicer camera.  We ended up spending more than we had originally planned, but those extended warranties are expensive!  Anyway, we still have until next Friday to take it back in if we decide we don't want it, so I've been taking tons of pictures and experimenting with it.  We were really excited to have something that could take good action shots and fast, because my siblings play a lot of sports.  I took it with me to regionals this past weekend and it seemed to do quite well.  I also have experimented with the macro and that took nice pictures too.  I think we will end up keeping it, but a Sony NEX was our other option.  Any opinions or feedback would be welcome. :)  I'm posting a few pictures that I've taken with it, and you can see what you think.
This was from regionals.
While driving, out the passenger window. :)
Esther waving.
A landscape shot.
The church talent show.

A cactus at Castlewood Canyon.
Now some random macro pics, also from Castlewood.

And last but not least, Jorden & I. :)

Let me know what you think. Thanks!
